“Never Again”

Even before No. 2-ranked Alabama takes its national championship quest to New Orleans and a rematch with No. 1 LSU, renowned artist Daniel A. Moore has begun work on his next Crimson Tide-themed oil painting.

“Never Again” focuses on a memorable move by Trent Richardson in Alabama’s 42-14 victory over Auburn, as the Crimson Tide avenged a bitter 28-27 loss in 2010.

“More than just the win, I want this painting to portray the fulfillment of the Alabama players’ vow, ‘Never Again,’ which they adopted after last year’s humbling loss, a come-from-behind win by Auburn,“ Moore explained. “I want the meaning of the painting to communicate a positive, real-life message to all who see it. True to their vow and commitment, there was no let down by the Tide at the end of this year’s Iron Bowl. I can think of no better image through which I can express this than that of Trent Richardson’s 4th-quarter, Heisman-caliber historic run.”

The first step in Moore’s process is a preliminary pencil sketch, seen here.

Prints are scheduled for publication and release in February 2012.
